Surat (Gujarat) [India], August 21: Sarvajanik University, established by the able management of ‘Sarvajanik Education Society’, is one of the leading University of the region. Every year, according to the UGC guidelines, 12th August is celebrated as Anti Ragging Day all over the country by all the institutions.

Anti Ragging Day, 2026 was celebrated in Sarvajanik University by all the constituent institutions, and all staff and students took part with great enthusiasm and positive vibes. As part of the celebration, ‘Article Writing’ and ‘Poster Making’ competitions on the theme of ANTI RAGGING were organised, and students participated in great numbers.

Dr Kiran Pandya, Provost, Sarvajanik University, Surat, addressed the students and steered the inauguration of Anti-Ragging Day. He noted in his address, “It is very important for all stakeholders of academics to understand that Ragging is a serious crime, and we, at Sarvajanik University, are always committed to a ragging-free campus and have adapted zero tolerance policy towards ragging.”

The competitions were judged by esteemed personalities: Adv. Pratibha Desai, Mrs. Panna Shung judged the poster-making competition and Mrs. Ashlesha Khurana judged the article-writing competition.

Mrs. Datasha Kanthariya and Mr. Himanshu Padhya, the Convener and Co-Convener of the University Anti-Ragging Committee, expressed their gratitude to all committee members, teachers and students for making the event successful.
